Some people may find the idea of sitting down, telling their story, f2f counselling indoors in a clinic overwhelming and possibly intimidating. Walking and talking is less formal and can help to relax in nature’s natural environment. I believe that the rhythms of nature have the capacity to calm, heal, energise and inspire us. Gentle exercise, breathing the fresh air of nature can heal us both physically and psychologically. Many people have experienced an ability to breathe more deeply, a reduction in anxiety and low mood. A connection with the outdoors and all that it offers can improve our sense of wellbeing, enhance our mood and levels of self esteem.
Recently a client told me that the feeling of rain on her face reminded her that she was alive, having fought her battle against breast cancer.
Walk and Talk is a less intensive approach which can be weekly, or at intervals to suit your needs.
