Clouds Counselling Blog

I recently came across these positive steps to mental health and emotional well being and thought they made a lot of sense so I thought I'd share them. Depression, Anxiety, stress and other mental / emotional difficulties that we may try and struggle on alone with, hoping it will go away, but maybe eased by some of these:-

  • Talk about your feelings
  • Keep active
  • Eat well
  • Drink sensibly
  • Keep in touch with friends, family and loved ones.
  • Don't be afraid to ask for help and what you need
  • Take a break
  • Do something that you are good at
  • Accept who you are
  • Believe in what you do and honour what you do

Have recently attended a 2 day workshop looking at and experiencing Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT). wow has really impressed me with some very interesting results.

We started the day by herd watching and observing the horses behaviours and body language and the impact that had on us. Then went on to work experientially individually, couples and groups. Was particulalry interested by the non- verbal  communication exercises.

Watch this space as i add  working with the horse to my practice!
